I have a few posts to do, hopefully will get them all done this week... first one is Mizen Head. My sister and her husband visited Ireland, and first they were a couple of days in Limerick. A friend of mine rented a car, and we did a day trip to Mizen Head. Luckily the weather was amazing, about as warm and sunny as possible in this country, so the visibility was also amazing. We left early in the morning, because it is a long drive, we left at 7 a.m and came back over 12 hours later.
Ireland is full of roads like this, and they are so charming.
99 steps really feels a lot more in that heat and sunshine...
Driving in Ireland is for the maniacs. The main roads are ok mostly, but regional and local roads are not... they are narrow and people drive like crazy. That is why there's a lot of traffic accidents, also fatal ones. On our way to Mizen Head there was also a lot of cyclists on the roads, and those fuckers really feel they own the roads. And I am a cyclist myself! They had a cycling event that day too, which meant even more cyclists on those narrow mountain roads. Passing anyone is very difficult because you can't see that far ahead, and the speed limit is usually 80. Here it means it is minimum speed.
I took a couple of days off last week, and went to Doolin on Wednesday, then to Inis Mor (Aran Islands) for one night, and to Dublin on Friday for one night. I also visited Dublin about two months ago, so I will write a post just about Dublin, and one about Doolin - Inis Mor.
